Having photographed Truckers for the past three years, it struck me that they are similar to the old cowboys of the West. While their steeds are different their personalities can be quite similar. Many are loners, used to long stretches away from home and suffering the discomforts of poor food and uncomfortable accomodations. As such I went on the road in 2007 to try to photograph the modern day cowboy, and what better place to do it than at rodeos. In the course of the year I visited rodeos held in Tucson, AZ Cheyenne, WO and a lovely regional one held in Cowtown, New Jersey. These photos are a few examples of what I captured.
